Whole Wheat Biscuits (lovingly called “Fridge Biscuits”

Make the dough and kept it in the fridge. Take out enough to make 6-8 at a time. I’ve also added garlic and cheese or cinnamon and raisins to batches just before baking.

5 cups flour (I used whole wheat)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar or honey
1 tablespoon yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups buttermilk (or water or milk)
3/4 cup Butter or coconut oil

Dissolve yeast in warm water, set aside

Mix dry ingredients thoroughly; cut in BUTTER OR COCONUT OIL and mix until like meal.

Add yeast mixture and buttermilk. Mix lightly until it forms a ball. Put in dish with tight cover and refrigerate. It’s best to refrigerate overnight, but you don’t have to.

Drop by spoonfuls onto your baking sheet. (you can lightly oil the baking sheet)

Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes
